A new Barbie Doll cost less than $5.

We’re talking 50 years ago, folks… all the way back in 1970! We actually took a little journey back there last weekend for Troy’s 50th birthday dinner party! Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at how our designers developed vintage 1970s themed evening at Cafe Navarre’s ClockTower room.

The inspiration board below was one of our first steps after meeting with our client, Troy’s wife. It lays out the gold+black color scheme, how fonts might appear on the invitation and throughout the event space and different wood and glass elements we might pull into the design. We create a board like this for just about every project we do! From there, we create a written design plan, present it to the client and (with the client’s approval), we go! Keep scrolling to see how we used the guest of honor’s face as an accent throughout the room (buttons, anyone?) and how it all came together!
